Updated: August 23, 2016 at 4:45 PM

On Saturday, August 20, 2016, an ATV accident was reported to the Wadena County Sheriff’s office at 11:51 A-M. The rollover occurred on the campgrounds at the Huntersville Outpost.

Bystanders said it appeared the operator lost control turning a corner. Both the operator and passenger were ejected.  Janet Williams, age 60 of Zimmerman, MN, was driving the ATV. Kasey Bernadella, age 18 of Blaine, MN, was the passenger when it overturned.

The two were transported by ambulance to Park Rapids. Williams was then flown to Sanford in Fargo with serious injuries. Bernadella was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph’s hospital in Park Rapids with minor injuries. A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office did not have an update on their current conditions.

In a press release, the Sheriff’s office noted that alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Menahga First Responders, the Minnesota DNR, Tri-County Ambulance, and North Memorial Air Care.
