An eastbound train carrying coal derailed this afternoon near Bena.

The Burlington Northern Santa Fe train was fully loaded with 122 car loads and three locomotives when ten cars derailed. Some of the coal spilled out of the cars and into the nearby swampy area.

Burlington Northern Sante Fe officials say it happened around 2:15 p.m. Friday and that there were no injuries involved in the derailment.

B-N-S-F officials are on their way to the scene and more information may be released after an investigation into the incident.
