The Vikings Gjallahorn Visit To Bemidji Cancelled

Vikings fans in northern Minnesota are being treated to a special visit to fire them up for the start of football season.gjallahorn2

The team’s original “Gjallarhorn” is stopping at various locations in what’s being called the “Sound of the North” Tour.

The horn – built in 2007 – is sounded before Vikings home games.

It was displayed at the Great Lakes Aquarium in Duluth on Tuesday.

The Gjallarhorn was supposed to be in Bemidji on Thursday but was cancelled.

It was originally set to be in front of the Paul and Babe as part of the tour, however Minnesota Vikings officials made the decision to cancel the visit after being informed about Paul Bunyan’s paint job.

Over the past week Bemidji’s iconic statues have been stripped of their colors and are currently being repainted.

According to a press release on the Vikings’ website, Bemidji was the last stop on the tour.
