Taconite Man Charged In ATV Crash

The Itasca County Attorney John J. Muhar filed a criminal complaint with the Itasca County District Court charging 33- year- old Dustin James Sipe of Taconite, Minnesota with one count of Felony Criminal Vehicular Operation- Great Bodily Harm and one count of gross misdemeanor Third Degree Driving while Impaired.

The charges come from Tammy Jo Manning falling out of a Polaris Ranger driven by Sipe and suffering severe head injuries last Sunday. Manning was airlifted to St. Mary’s Essentia Health Hospital in Duluth where she continues to be treated for life- threatening injuries.

Sipes bail is set at $20,000 without conditions. Alternatively, Sipe was allowed to be released on his own recognizance with conditions. Sipe is scheduled to appear in Itasca County Court August 15th.
