Red Lake Nation Elects New District Representatives

Red Lake Nation members have chosen four district representatives after casting their votes in a run off tribal election Wednesday.

Winners of the following districts are:

  • Ponemah: Glenda J. Martin won 53-percent of the votes, defeating Daniel C. Johnson 231-203 votes.
  • Redby: Allen D. Pemberton won 57-percent of the votes, defeating Darrell “Ragg” Johnson 299-217 votes.
  • Red Lake had the most votes casted. With 766 votes total, 407 went to Robert “Bob” Smith, snagging 53 percent, defeating Donald L. Good, Sr.
  • Little Rock Districts: Richard W. Barrett, Sr. defeated William “Billy Greene with 58 percent of the votes.

Each district representative will serve a four-year term.
