Ojibwe Language and Culture Camp Dates Set for July

Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians will host an Ojibwe Language and Culture Camp on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, July 19 to 21, 2016 from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. for the fourth consecutive year.

The three-day camp is open to kids ages 6 to 18. It will feature canoeing, lacrosse, Ojibwe bingo, moccasin game, plant identification, crafts, traditional Anishinaabe teachings and more. The camps main location will be the Ponemah Round House. Transportation and meals are provided.

The Camp is hosted by Red Lake Head Start Immersion School, Red Lake Chemical Health, and Red Lake Economic Development and Planning.

The Gabeshiwin (camp) is part of Red Lake Nation’s Ojibwemowin Revitalization efforts.
