President Obama Signs-Off For Disaster Storm Relief
Wednesday President Barack Obama declared a major disaster in Minnesota following a request from Gov. Mark Dayton. The severe storms from Sept. 21-22 caused more than $8 million in damages to public infrastructure in nine southern Minnesota Counties.
The federal government will cover 75 percent of the approved cost and households damaged by flooding may also receive aid. Damages to homes and individual property in the region are estimated to be more than $10 Million.
