New Labor Contract For Cliffs Natural Resources Steelworkers

A new labor agreement has steelworkers at Hibbing Taconite and United Taconite working again.

Cliffs Natural Resources announced Thursday that employees represented by the United Steelworkers at Hibtac, Utac and its Tilden and Empire mines in Michigan have ratified a new three-year labor contract.

The contract covers approximately 2,000 USW-represented employees at Cliffs’ operations and will be in effect until Sept. 30, 2018.
