UPDATED: Missing Elk River Man Has Been Found

Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larsen says that Glenn Hoppe has been located and remains in good physical condition. According to the Sheriff’s Office, a passerby motorist located Hoppe walking along the roadway as he was driving by the Castaway Restaurant on 320th Street in Scandia Valley Township. The motorist recognized Hoppe as a reported missing person and dropped him off at the Crookneck Lake Public Access.

The Sheriff’s Office made contact with Hoppe Friday morning around 8:30a.m. and he was then transported to the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office for an interview. Initial investigation revealed that Hoppe left the Crookneck Lake campsite on foot in the early morning hours last Monday. Hoppe said he was disoriented and after several miles of walking he had wandered off into the woods south of Crookneck Lake. Hoppe set up camp in the woods and stayed put until recently located.

Sheriff Larsen says that Hoppe has been reunited with his family and the details of Hoppe’s disappearance are still being investigated. Hoppe has been transported to St. Gabriel’s Hospital for an evaluation.
