Minnesota’s Minimum Wage Increased For All Part Time And Full Time Employees

Today the state of Minnesota raised their minimum wage to $9.50 an hour making Minnesota one of the states with the highest paid minimum wages in the country. While this a great day for employees business leaders say that if minimum wage continues to go up consumers should expect the price of merchandise to go up as well. The raise is the third of a three part annual increase that was signed into law in 2014. The increase applies to all part time and full time workers including those who make tips. The minimum wage law has created some confusion in the business community. Starting in 2018, the minimum wage will increase annually based upon inflation.
