Minnesota Vikings Run Meet-and-Greet Donation Drive

The Minnesota Vikings are giving fans a chance to meet players while giving to a good cause. Donations of new or unused school supplies will be collected at four Minneapolis Hy-Vee locations today from 4 to 7 P-M, and given to local elementary schools for the upcoming year.

Players Alex Boone (guard), Danielle Hunter (defensive end), Charles Johnson (wide receiver) and Captain Munnerlyn (cornerback) will be each be at a different store listed below and will give autographs starting at 6 P-M.

Attendees can also enjoy hotdogs and food, take photos with the Viking cheerleaders and throw around the football with mascot Viktor in exchange for donations. The team’s drum line, Skol Line, will perform with other activities happening in the parking lot at each location.

Donors will be entered in a contest to win a prizes such as a $50 Hy-Vee gift card or autographed jersey.

Suggested items include: box of crayons, box of tissues, composition notebook, #2 pencils, scissors, colored pencils, dry erase markers, wide-ruled spiral notebooks, two-pocket folders, washable Elmer’s glue sticks, pink erasers, plastic pencil cases, markers, hand sanitizer, yellow highlighters and backpacks (no wheels).
