Man On Side Of Road Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle

A pedestrian was fatally struck when the man exited his vehicle after it went off the road. According to a Minnesota State Patrol incident report, the fatal incident happened on Highway 200 in Laporte at 12:07 A-M on Sunday.

Luke Prescott, 45 of Princeton, was traveling in a Chevy Venture when it went into the median side. Prescott was walking up to the shoulder when a GMC Acadia traveling eastbound struck him.

Both cars sustained minor damage.

A spokesperson for State Patrol said the driver has not been charged yet while drug and alcohol test results continue to be analyzed. Alcohol was detected in his system at the time of the crash.
