Horace May Elementary Uses Individualized Reading Approach

Teachers and staff at Horace May Elementary in Bemidji teach students reading comprehension skills with an individualized approach. The ‘Reading Well by 3rd Grade’ initiative helps students with one on one resources, small group settings, and other programs. Back in class, the students have consistent testing to find appropriate level books for them as well. There are also incentives such as a party for students who read over a million words during the year or meet other criteria.
