Highway 200 Project

For about two weeks, motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures and minor delays on Highway 200 between Mahnomen and Roy Lake. Those traveling on Highway 200 will encounter lane closures and delays beginning Wednesday, July 6, as crews start a resurfacing project. The work also includes grades raises to reduce the risk of flooding and several culvert replacements.

From mid-July to mid-August, Highway 200 will close to all traffic between Mahnomen County Road 3 and Roy Lake. The detour is located on Highway 113 using Mahnomen County Road 3 and Clearwater County Road 39. It adds about 20 miles each way to the commute.

From mid-August through early October, the remaining work will be done under traffic. A pilot car and flaggers will control traffic and motorists should plan for daily lane closures in the area where crews are working.

Knife River Materials is the contractor for the $5.5 million project. The work will ensure a smoother and safer roadway on 20 miles of Highway 200.
