Head-On Collision Leaves 1 Person Injured

One person was injured in a head-on collision in Motley on Sunday. The crash took place on Sunday around 7:27 P-M on Highway 64.

Michael Lyle of Laporte, 52, was driving his Toyota Tacoma Northbound, when driver Benjamin Ameyan of Brooklyn Park, 54, passed in a no-passing lane, striking the Toyota. Ameyan’s vehicle then left the roadway and struck a tree, according to Minnesota State Patrol.

Lyle did not sustain any injuries. Ameyan was airlifted to North Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Michael Tieku of Brooklyn Park, 18, was a passenger in Ameyan’s car and reported no injuries.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Minnesota State Patrol on scene.
