Free Dental Clinic in Moorhead Starts Tomorrow

Thousands of patients are given the chance for a free dental checkup in Moorhead this Friday and Saturday. It will be held at Concordia College Auditorium, where floors will be transformed into a 100-chair clinic.

Starting at 5:30 a.m., hundreds of Minnesota and North Dakota dentists will provide services including cleanings, fillings, extractions, limited treatment for partial dental appliances, and some root canals in front teeth.

Care will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. The Mission of Mercy event is geared towards providing free dental care to children and adults who aren’t able to get it.

The free care is being provided by more than 1,000 volunteers, including dentists from Minnesota and North Dakota, as well as hygienists, dental assistants, dental therapists, translators and lay volunteers.

This is the fifth year a Mission of Mercy event is being held in Minnesota, with free care provided valued at over $4 million since 2012.

It is sponsored by the Minnesota and North Dakota Dental Association.
