Dakota Tribe Donates to Bemidji Boys and Girls Club

Bemidji, MN- The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community presented the Boys and Girls Club of the Bemidji Area with a donation of $2,500. This donation is going to be used to purchase fitness equipment for the Club. The fitness equipment will help the children learn about healthy lifestyles and habits.

The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community is a federally recognized, sovereign Indian tribe located southwest of Minneapolis/St. Paul. With a focus on being a good neighbor, good steward of the earth and good employer, the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community is committed to charitable donations, community partnerships, a healthy environment, and a strong economy.

Out of a Dakota tradition to help others, the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community has donated nearly $300 million to organizations and causes since opening the Gaming Enterprise in the 1990’s and has contributed millions more to regional governments and infrastructure such as roads, water and sewer systems and emergency services.
