Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Department Seeks Public Help In Locating Hit And Run Suspect

Crow Wing County Sheriff Todd Dahl is seeking the public’s help in locating a vehicle that was involved in a hit and run accident involving a bicyclist. The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office received a call at approximately 8:35 p.m. Wednesday, August 17th about an accident that involved a bicyclist being struck by a full-size truck on the 5900 block of Wild Acres Road, in Pequot Lakes. The bicyclist, Elizabeth Larson, 34, of Pequot Lakes was riding her bike and was stopped on the side of the road waiting to cross when a truck traveling eastbound struck Larson. Larson’s body was thrown over the hood of the truck and onto the roadway. The truck fled the scene without stopping. Witnesses to the accident attempted to catch the vehicle however were not successful. Larson suffered multiple injuries and was flown to North Memorial Medical Center by North Air Care.   The driver was described as a younger male wearing glasses.

Based on witness description and evidence left at the scene, the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a truck described as:

 

1992-1196 Ford F150 single cab pickup

2-tone color/ dark (possibly green or blue) over a tan lower half

Truck has cab lights

Truck will have damage to the passenger side mirror
