Crosby man to Appear in Court After Secretly Videotaping Neighbor

A Crosby man reportedly filmed and narrated 40 videos of his neighbor through her bedroom window while repeatedly sexually harassing her.

Bradley D. Fordyce, 65, of Crosby, is set to appear in court Monday, July 11, in Crow Wing District Court for his plea hearing. He is facing one count of felony burglary, and two gross misdemeanor charges in stalking and interfering with privacy.

The Crosby Police Department received a series of indecent behavior complaints in April, the latest in which Fordyce left a disturbing note on her door. The victim also made several reports of indecent exposure by Fordyce in his yard and through his open windows.

An officer secured two handwritten notes that were taped to the door inside her porch at her residence. The only way to access this door is to enter the victim’s porch, according to the complaint.

When the officer approached Fordyce, he refused to open his door, instead cracked the storm door window open a couple of inches and crouched down to talk through the screen. Fordyce admitted placing the notes on her door, stating that he was sick of her complaining about seeing him through his window. Fordyce said if she doesn’t like it she should just keep her curtains closed, the complaint stated. He also said he left the notes to attempt a consensual act between two adults. He admitted the notes were in bad taste.

Officers obtained a search warrant to Fordyce’s residence to locate any equipment and files. Officers located eight TV monitors connected to the surveillance cameras. One of the cameras was apparently pointed at the victim’s window.

Officers reviewed the video footage and found 40 short videos of Fordyce narrating what the victim was doing as he monitored her residence. In some of the videos, Fordyce described using infrared video to see into the victim’s dark bedroom.

Fordyce has previous felony convictions for growing and possessing marijuana plants and also was convicted of indecent exposure in June 2002 in the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area.
