Community Spotlight: Pequot Lakes High School Students Participate in Community Build

It was all about giving back to the community as about 20 industrial tech students from Pequot Lakes High School helped install new additions to Nisswa Park as part of their annual ‘Day of Caring.’

A focal point to the installations was adding some new equipment that was in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The new additions included replacing swings with a therapeutic swing and adding fiber wood chips along the playground.

They students explained if felt good to put their skills to work and look forward to younger kids testing out the new equipment.

The Parks and Rec Department hopes the updates provide a better and bigger playground for kids of all abilities and ages.
