UPDATED: Cancelled – Comedian Ralphie May Posts Video on YouTube in Response to Controversy

BEMIDJI, MINN. — The Netflix Unruly Tour featuring comedian Ralphie May set for Saturday, April 9, has been cancelled, according to a statement from the Sanford Center’s director of sales and marketing.

The statement read:

“At the direction of the Bemidji City Manager, the Sanford Center has cancelled the show due to concerns about the appropriateness of what the comedy material could contain. Current ticket purchases will be refunded at their point of purchase, tickets purchased online at www.ticketmaster.com will be refunded automatically. For more information about refunding your tickets, please contact the Bob Lowth Ford Pickup Windows at the Sanford Center directly at 218-441-4032.”

Comedian Ralphie May has caused quite a stir in the Bemidji area regarding his performance. Protesters had been pressuring city leaders and event management to cancel the show, and as of this morning, the cancellation had not been officially confirmed. It has now been confirmed the show has been officially cancelled.

May posted a video response on YouTube yesterday sharing his perspective on the controversy. The video, which already has over 11,500 views, can be seen by clicking on the video below.
