BSU Unveils Newest Student Housing: University Heights

A vision and a plan years in the making, student of Bemidji State University will soon occupy a much larger and newer space in student housing.

BSU officiated the opening of University Heights with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday, with the Mayor of Bemidji Rita Albrecht, city officials and a BSU crowd in attendance.

Located along 18th and Paul Bunyan Drive, University Heights will host 56 students, with eight four-bedroom and eight three-bedroom apartments within the building.

It is also BSU’s first ever all gender-inclusive student housing.

Future expansion plans for the development include a 296-car parking garage and two smaller multi-use buildings, which could be constructed during a Phase 2 beginning in 2018, and a significant residential expansion that would include two combination buildings with both apartments and commercial space, one apartment-only building and 12 town homes.
