Bruce Buxton Named As 2016 Citizen Of The Year

East Gull Lake resident Bruce Buxton was named the 2016 Brainerd Citizen of the Year.

Buxton received several nomination letters from people and organizations, including Brainerd Lakes Area Economic Development, East Gull Lake City Administrator Stew Mills, Brainerd Lakes Chamber of Commerce, Widseth Smith, Central Lakes College Theater Department, Buxton’s wife Kathy and The Center.

Buxton was lured to The Center on the assumption that he was going to be meeting with the city building inspector about The Center’s roof project. Instead he received a big surprise when he was named Citizen of the Year.
