Broken Beaver Dam Causes Road To Close

A broken beaver dam in northern Minnesota has closed a road near Ely.

According to the St. Louis County Public Works Department, the beaver dam that broke caused flooding to Grant McMahan Boulevard. The road is currently closed between Burntside Lodge Road and Schaeffer Road.

St. Louis County Public Works staff and sheriff’s deputies are monitoring the situation and waiting for the water to recede to assess the damage.
