One of Bemidji’s biggest summer attraction has come to a close but the talk of the town has been Monday’s fireworks display.

Every summer, Bemidji attracts thousands to its water carnival and thousands more to its 4th of July fireworks display, but this year some attendees were not too impressed.

Immediately after the show, many vented their frustration and disappointment all over social media, saying the fireworks were “too far away” and they can “barely hear them.”

But for some, it’s the location they chose they made all the difference.

Due to safety concerns and area construction, the set off location of the fireworks had to be moved towards the center of the lake.

The Bemidji Jaycees, organizers of the annual event, says they will continue seeking public feedback. The Jaycees also reported a record number of sales from this year’s water carnival.
