Bemidji Area In Winter Weather Advisory

A blizzard is expected to hit the Red River Valley to the west putting the Bemidji area in winter weather advisory through Tuesday evening.

 

The National Weather Service Office in Grand Forks issued the Winter Weather Advisory for Bemidji through 6 p.m. Tuesday. Bemidji area should see between 3 to 5 inches of snow by Tuesday evening.

 

The snowfall started Monday evening. They are predicting winds may be up 30 miles per hour, which will lead to blowing snow and difficult driving conditions.

 

The Minnesota Department of Transportation issued a press release Monday afternoon warning motorist of the hazardous driving conditions.

 

The Bemidji area temperatures will be about 24 degrees but are expected to fall to 17 degrees by 4 p.m. and continuing to fall to 11 degrees in the evening. There is a 40 percent chance that the snow could continue on Wednesday and Thursday. The temperature will continue to drop on Friday with a high of 8 degrees.
