Arbor Day at Lum Park
Around 18 classrooms joined in on the celebration wishing a “Happy Arbor Day!” from Garfield Elementary and a home school organization. Since it was still a school day, they were learning while enjoying the weather outside.
Stations were set up for kids to interact and learn more about why trees matter.
An activity favorite was a game called predator and prey where they got to learn the roles of each and how it contributes to the environment.
And each student left with a red pine seedling to plant, continuing the long tradition of why Arbor Day was created.
