$12,600 Awarded in Community Health Grants from Essentia Health-St.Joseph’s Foundation

Brainerd, Minn. – More than $12,600 was awarded to organizations and schools including St. Francis Catholic School, Community Care N Share, Timber Bay Camp, and VFW Post 3839.

The St. Joseph’s Foundation Board of Directors reviews grant applications six times. The applications must focus on the community needs in the area of Essentia Health-St. Josephs’ Medical Center. Or applications must be submitted by nonprofits or government agencies and meet outlined criteria.

St. Francis Catholic School received $6,800 to help upgrade their gym, which other community groups will be able to utilize. Community Care N Share received $2,500 to help purchase food to be cooked and delivered to families in need.

$3,300 was awarded to Timber Bay Camp. The camp is an opportunity for high-risk youth to experience the beauty of the camp, get outside, and get away from the stress in their lives.

VFW Post 3839 recieved an Automated External Defibrillator to provide immediate on the spot emergency aid. This is equivalent to a grant of $1,300.
